Summer 2014 Favourites

How is it already the end of summer? This summer went by so fast, but it was such a good summer. As the saying goes, time flies when you're having fun I guess is really true.

e.l.f. professional Total Face Brush
I bought this brush at the beginning of summer and I have been using it almost everyday. It's perfect for blending and putting on powder, plus it was really inexpensive.
NYC IndividualEyes for Brown Eyes #946 Best of Broadway
While I don't have brown eyes I bought this specifically for the gold and pink-champagne colours. And they're nice colours but the thing I've been using is the primer (flesh toned thing on the side, and on my finger in the other picture). It's perfect for under the eyes and on the eyelids just to even out and brighten everything.
Covergirl Flamed Out Water Resistant Mascara
I love the feeling of this brush on my lashes. It's so soft and plush. The reason I bought it was because I wanted a water proof mascara for swimming. Sadly it's not very water resistant and does smudge, but I really like the mascara. It would also hold a curl really well, I think.

Maybelline Baby Lips in #15 Cherry Me
I am a bit late on the baby lips trend, but now I know why everyone seems to own them. They are really nice and inexpensive products. Even though this is one of the brighter colours in the Baby Lips Collection, it's a very natural colour for me and I find rosy or more red shades complement me the best. Also, the taste and colour remind me of eating a cherry popsicle, which is even more of a reason for me to love this this summer.
The Body Shop Chocolate Lip Butter
I love the taste of this. It's not super chocolate-y or sweet, definitely a bit more of a subtle chocolate flavour. It's not the most moisturizing product, but it does make your lips feel nice and makes them taste good too!

L'Oreal #400 Tangerine Crush Nail Colour
I just bought this a few weeks ago but I've been wearing it ever since. It's such a perfect summer colour.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm
I've talked about this stuff before. It's great, I love it and I've been wearing it almost every day this summer. You don't need to hear about it anymore.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in #420 Pacific Blue

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in #440 Mint Sprint

This book is so good. If you are a teenager or young adult READ THIS BOOK! It is so good, so relatable, so fun, yet so heartbreaking. A must read.

I hope you all had a fabulous summer as I did. Cheers!

Perfect Pairs: Eggs and Tomatoes

There are so many things that go so well together that when we were asked to write about a perfect pairing for this 2014 Blogger Challenge post, I couldn't decide what to write about. But I have decided to write about one of my favourite pairings- eggs and tomatoes.

Both eggs and tomatoes have always been near and dear to my heart. There is nothing I love more than fresh tomatoes. And I love making eggs for breakfast when I have the time in the morning. But the two of them together is magical. The tomatoes always add a fresh taste to a greasy egg, potatoes and bacon/sausage meal. But there are more ways to eat it than just a tomato slice or two on the side.

My personal favourite is to put two or three slices of tomatoes on top of a piece of buttered toast under two eggs, either poached or fried, sunny side up. I love the mixture of the soft toast, fresh tomatoes and the runny yolk from the egg. It's seriously the best thing ever!

What's even better is when you have more stuff to top it with. Like cheese, bacon, salsa, avacado, spinach, green onion, etc. You really can make some amazing food out of some eggs, tomatoes, bread and fresh ingredients.

And if you've never experienced tomatoes and eggs, well then you're missing out and I suggest you get on that ASAP while tomatoes are still in season. Have a beautiful day!

How To Be A Super Lazy Blogger

Typically I am such a go getter. I overstudy and overwork but manage my time well enough so it seems like just studying and working without the over part. Usually. And while typically my blog is on the backburner from the rest of my life I somehow always find the time to post regularly. Except for this summer. Even without school, this blog has really seemed to be on the backburner for the last few weeks. And if I'm totally honest, I've enjoyed my time to just live in the moment, go on cool adventures and hang out with some of my favourite people.

Lately, it seems just a little bit of work can tire me out, especially when it comes to my blog. I'll add two photos or gifs to a post, high five myself for actually getting around to it and log off. And I hate that. I feel so lazy when I do that. But I know that I shouldn't.

To top it off, I've had a bit of a blogger's block which is why you're reading some minor thoughts going through my head right now instead of a decent post. That said, I've had some awesome creativity for writing stories and drawing and painting instead, which throughout the school year I don't always have since I don't usually have the time. In that sense, this summer has been a nice remix of my creative juices which I have rather enjoyed.

As of September, though I'm hopefully going to have some more hauls and funner posts going up for y'all. Which I hope will make for me continuing to be MIA. So with that in mind, I should be logging off and congratulating myself for getting through writing this post in one go. Yay me!

Products Then and Now

This spring I bought some new makeup products that I was really excited about and I definitely included in a favourites post and a mini review. I find that often I am really into and really excited about a product when I first buy it that I rave about it but then after a month or so of using it on a fairly regular basis, I often realize that it's really just an alright product. So without further adieu, here are some feelings about products that I purchased earlier this year.

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie
I still really like this product. Great colour, great packaging, somewhat moisturizing. The way a lot of people talk about Revlon Lip Butters it makes them sound super moisturizing. They're not. They feel nice, but they are no replacement for lip balm.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation
Everyone loves this foundation and so do I. It's fairly natural looking, fairly heavy and will last all day.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
There seems to be a lot of mixed reviews about this product and at first I was a little unsure of it but I quickly learned to love it. It's super natural looking, light weight, goes on really easily with a makeup sponge plus it has SPF 30 in it. That said, I would be cautious about it if I had super oily skin. My only complaints are that it is really liquid-y and although it's a squirty tube, it being a twist on cap and sits with the cap to the floor, it makes it a little messy.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer I've already done a separate review on this because I kind of wanted to rant a bit. You can click Here if you want to read about it.

Covergirl Clump Crusher by Lashblast Mascara
I have mixed feelings about this mascara. If you want more natural looking lashes, this is definitely a good mascara to try as it is very delicate to use in some ways. It has tiny little bristles that are quite hard, which makes applying not the most comfortable thing. Also, it is not waterproof. But I do really like how it makes my lashes look, none the less.

NYC Color Wheel in All Over Bronze
I am not crazy about this bronzer. You have to get a lot of bronzer on your brush for it to really show up at all. I do know that NYC supposedly makes better bronzers than this one so I definitely wouldn't go and waste my money on this again.

Rimmel London in
I really like the colours in this little palette. They're not the absolutely best formula or anything but they are really decent and I have used all of the colours at least once.

NYX Eyeliner in Black/Brown This is definitely one of the best eyeliners I have used. (Not that I've tried too many or anything.) But it's smooth and I really like the colour. Plus, it's not expensive.

Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Ginger Flame
I really love this product. It's a fantastic colour and formula for a very reasonable price. If you're looking for a good everyday eye colour/product, definitely try one of these.
I hope you enjoyed these mini reviews and are having a lovely day! Cheers!

Movies I Hate To Admit I Haven't Seen- 2014BloggerChallenge

We all have those movies that we hate to say we haven't seen before. You know, those so called "classics" that everybody and their sister fangirls over. Those movies that if you tell someone you've never seen it they make a face like this:

Well I have far too many of those movies. So that is why for this 2014BloggerChallenge that is supposed to be about films I am going to admit to the internet all of the films I'm ashamed to say that I have not seen.

Tangled I honestly don't have a good excuse, I just haven't gotten around to watching it.

All of the Shreks I tried watching one of them when I was like five and I just remember not enjoying it and not finishing it. Therefore, I have forever thought that I wouldn't like them.

All of the Toy Stories I really could just care less, honestly.

Clueless Apparently this is some sort of 90s kid classic. But let's just say I was young enough to not remember the end of the 90s. But I should probably watch it since technically I am a child of the 90s.

The Notebook I know it'll make me cry and therefore I have avoided it. Same with Dear John.

The Star Wars Saga I've only seen the first one and to be honest, I didn't really like it.

Those are the ones I can think of for right now, but believe me there are lots more I could probably add to the list.

What classic movies have you yet to see? Let me know in the comments below. Cheers!
